Queen Mating Flight

The chestnut tree bait box attracted a new swarm. On today's date (Sunday) I was working in the yard and heard a loud buzzing. I went over to investigate and the bees were swarming around the chestnut tree. I understand that the swarming bees are not threatening, and I walked into the swarm and squinted up toward the sun. I imagined that the queen was on a mating flight. After about fifteen minutes or so, the bees came back and settled into the bait hive.
